Ponies available to loan

Many of the ponies we take in to Healing Hooves Devon have found themselves in difficult and sad situations, whether through owner ill health, welfare issues, or abandonment. With care, patience and love we support each horse to recover, both physically and mentally. Once they are happy and any health issues resolved or well managed, we make available for loan those who we feel will thrive in a home with a loving loaner.

Rehoming a pony on loan is such a rewarding thing to do, and by freeing up space it enables us help more ponies in need at our facility.

Please contact us if you would like to enquire about loaning any pony on this page. We will require references and a home check, plus a £400 rehoming fee (which will go directly back to caring for all the ponies and horses who come to us)

Calypso (to be rehomed with Poppy)

Calypso is a pretty mare, approximately 13hh and born Spring 2010.

As with many ponies she can be a little nervous until she gets to know you, but she is sweet natured and has lived in a mixed herd here at Healing Hooves Devon. She is very attached to her friend Poppy (who came here with her) and these two ladies would need to be rehomed together and not separated.

Calypso is up to date with tetanus injections and has no medical needs. She is barefoot and good to trim , and as a hardy type would very rarely need a rug.

A loan home where Calypso and Poppy could live out together with shelter available, and be friendly companions or part of a small retired herd, would be ideal for these lovely ladies.
